Our story
Born from a real problem, not a market opportunity
ownMap was born in 2019, when a team of French engineers ran into a difficulty familiar to many others: finding your way around large buildings — without the issue, in their eyes, justifying a substantial budget. Rather than leave the problem unanswered, they built the solution they wished they’d had.
The application was first tested at universities in Paris, before expanding to other institutions and public bodies with the same need.
